The meeting concluded that there are a number of ways for successful co-operation between BiH and Croatia in this area, especially since Croatia is a member of the European Union and has previously undergone a period of transition and alignment of legislation with EU directives – the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury stated it.
Minister Bevanda, who is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Deposit Insurance Agency of BiH, stressed that it is necessary to create a legal framework that will be modern and at the same time adapted to the constitutional regulations in BiH and EU rules.
Director Hrebac, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Deposit Insurance Forum (EFDI), emphasized that the Republic of Croatia is providing full support to BiH in reforms in this area and in strengthening human capacities through cooperation and exchange of experience.
The interlocutors concluded that there was room for improvement in cooperation in the area of deposit insurance and that it was necessary to contact representatives of the competent institutions, both law-makers and law-makers, more frequently.
The Director of the Deposit Insurance Agency in BiH Krešimir Šoljić and the Head of the Office of the Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Dado Šaric attended the meeting – the statement said.
